The Bedugul and Beratan Lake Tour is an exciting tour that leads you high into the central mountains where you can witness the amazing views of the Lakes and surrounding tropical rainforest coated hills and mountains. This is one area in Bali where you really can witness Bali as it has been for years without any development for tourism and very little development for the local areas. There are a few small villages close by to this area but essentially this could be a different island all together from the rest of Bali.

This eight hour tour begins at your personal Hotel where ever you are staying in Bali where comfortable air conditioned transport will arrive at 9am to pick you up and escort you on the fascinating climb through villages and amazing scenery right to the top of the central mountains. At 11 o'clock you will arrive at the incredible Taman Ayun Temple located in a picture perfect paradise Mengwi District and Badung regency. This jewel from the Mengwi Empire is large and impressive and is a classic example of the grandeur instilled in Balinese architecture. The incredible building is surrounded by traditional Balinese gardens that are extremely well kept with statues and water features including large interestingly shaped fishponds and exotic flower plantations and is the first stop of the Bedugul and Beratan Lake Tour.

After this experience it is time for lunch, which takes place at the Pacung Restaurant where you can enjoy a selection of Indonesian and western foods with a rice terrace view over the rolling hills that lead down to the south of the island. The tour continues from here to the traditional fruit and vegetable market where you can walk amongst the vibrant atmosphere and witness the very heart of Balinese culture far removed from the cities and tourism of the south. Here you can purchase exotic fruits, vegetables and spices that have been grown locally and are fresh as well as art and other eastern market gems. The overall effect is rich and fulfilling.

The Bedugul and Beratan Lake Tour then proceeds to the Beratan Lake itself, which is also the site of the Ulun Danu. This magnificent calm area can be enjoyed in mountain fresh cool breezes that are exclusive to this area. The Ulun Danu temple is encircled by the waters of the Lake Beratan and is extremely tranquil, in the morning this area is subject to mists that can really encapsulate the atmosphere and feeling of this wonderful place. The waters here are clear and calm and can be swam in although they are far cooler the seas that surround Bali, it is also possible in this region to participate in water sports on some of the surrounding lakes. After enjoying this area in all its glory the air conditioned transport will glide you back down the mountainside and back to you personal hotel for 1700 where you can dine and discuss this wonderful unforgettable day.
